"I can't believe my luck, I'll be going to the best school in the world next week!" said Deepanshi with great joy to her mother.

"I know honey, your father and I are so proud of you," replied her mother.

"Oh mother, I promise I will do my very best to make you even prouder of me," said Deepanshi.

Help with essay on the mystery

"I know, I know, but dont work to hard. I don't want my daughter to get depressed," said her mother.

"I know my limits mum," said Deepanshi. Her mum laughed.

"I trust you," she said.

________________________________________________________________________

Deepanshi entered the school office. It was the biggest boarding school she had ever seen. She was really nervous. She wondered what the other kids would think of her. She hoped that she would be friends with everyone. The headmistress greeted her in the office.

"You're our new student. Welcome to Mattison International Boarding School. I hope you will perform and well as you did in you're other school," she said.

"I will miss, my plan was to work even harder," said Deepanshi.

"Your name is Deepanshi Chaudry right?" asked the headmistress.

"Yes miss," replied Deepanshi.

"Well mannered as well. I love that. I have a feeling you will take our school to the top Deepanshi."

"I hope so miss."

"I will take you to your room, follow me," said the headmistress. Deepanshi followed. She looked around her. The corridors were full of the students work. They were really good work. She passed by the art classroom. She saw a few students working hard on their drawings. Their teacher was supervising them closely. He looked really severe. He had a really had a long nose and he was really thin and tall.

"Scary. I'm awfully glad I did not take art," thought Deepanshi. She passed various classes, it was Saturday, and so no one was in the classes.

"Miss, how come the art students are the only ones working?" she asked.

"Well, they have an art competition, so they have to work extra hard," she said.

"Oh," said Deepanshi.

"Here is your room, common in," said the headmistress. Deepanshi held her breath, she felt really nervous. The headmistress opened the door. Inside there were three girls. Their attention immediately turned on Deepanshi.

"Girls, this is your new roommate. I hope you will be nice to her and treat her well. Deepanshi, your timetable is by your bed. I count on you girls to show her round the school," said the headmistress.

"You can count on us miss," said one of the girls.

"Good," said the headmistress and went out of the room. There was silence for a moment. They all stared at Deepanshi. Then, one of the girls broke the silence.

"Hi, my name is Mary-Joel," she said. Deepanshi smiled.

"My name is Deepanshi and I really hope you guys don't mind me sharing room with you," she said.

"Of course not," said Mary-Joel. The other two presented themselves.

"Hi, I'm Jordan," said one of them.

"And I'm Diane," said the other girl.

"Nice meeting you. I presume that is where I'm going to put my stuff," said Deepanshi pointing at an empty cupboard.

"You got it. Need any help?" asked Mary-Joel.

"Why not, if you don't mind," said Deepanshi.

"Of course I don't," said Mary-Joel. While they unpacking Deepanshi stuff Jordan asked Deepanshi if she could see her timetable.

"Sure," said Deepanshi. Diane also went to look. They were surprised at Deepanshi's subject choices.

"You must be a genius," said Jordan.

"Why?" asked Mary-Joel curiously.

"Well, she's taken, chemistry, physics, add maths, accounts, and economics," said Diane.

"Wow! Girl, you are mad," said Mary-Joel.

"Yah, you'll go insane, demented, I mean you find yourself in mental hospital soon," said Jordan. Diane nodded in agreement. Deepanshi laughed.

"No I won't. Hey, people, tell me about this and school and the people, well I mean the other students," said Deepanshi.

"Well, the only problem is that it's an all girl school. That means there only girls in this school," said Diane.

"I know that. I also thought it was a bore," said Deepanshi. "What else?"

"That's not the only problem. There are some girls that there are many bullies in the upper form. When we take you around, we'll tell you who to avoid," said Mary-Joel.

"Thanks," said Deepanshi.

"Another detail. Lots of girls here smoke and take drugs. I don't know where they get the cigarettes and the drugs…"

"They get that when we go to town you idiot," said Jordan to Diane.

"Sorry, I never thought of that," said Diane.

"Go on," said Deepanshi. She wanted to know every single detail about her new school.

"Well," said Jordan before anyone could reply, " There are girls who are not normal," she said.

"What do you mean by that?" asked Deepanshi curiously.

"You'll get what she means, when you see," said Mary-Joel.

"Oh. Tell me about the teachers," said Deepanshi.

"Some are strict, some are cool. I hope for your sake you don't get the strict ones," said Diane.

"Why?" asked Deepanshi.

"You'll see," said Mary-Joel. "Well, we've finished packing your stuff, lets go present you to the gang," said Mary-Joel.

"You guys have got a gang?" asked Deepanshi.

"Of course. In this school you have to be in a gang to survive," said Diane.

"Oh," said Deepanshi.

"Welcome to our school Deepanshi," said Jordan.

___________________________________________________________

Soon Deepanshi was presented to four other girls. Their names were Payal, Leanne, Isabelle and Farnaz.

"Welcome Deepanshi," said Payal.

"Yeah, the newest member in our group," said Farnaz.

"Thanks for accepting me. I guess it's not that hard making friends here," said Deepanshi.

"Nah, it's not that hard," said Leanne.

"Guys, there is going to be the basketball tournament soon. Who is going to try out for the team?" asked Mary-Joel.

"I am," said Isabelle at once.

"So am I. I'm good at dribbling the ball," said Jordan.

"I'm also going to try out. I'm excellent at shooting," said Diane.

"How about you Deepanshi?" asked Isabelle.

"No thanks, I'm not the sporty person. I'm more into books and music," Deepanshi replied.

"Oh, but you will come watch the matches. They are always held here, since we have the best basketball courts," said Isabelle.

"Sure I'll come," said Deepanshi.

"Well, let's show Deepanshi around the school," said Leanne. They showed Deepanshi everything. They showed her where the bathrooms were, where the toilets were, where the hall in which they had breakfast, lunch and supper was, they showed her where all the classes were. While they doing so they bumped in to another gang.

"Oh no, not them," said Mary-Joel. The other group noticed Deepanshi and the ring leader of the group told her group members to approach them.

"Who's the new girl?" she asked.

"Deepanshi," said Payal.

"Oh. So there's a newcomer. I better spread the word around school," said the girl.

"Do what you want Crystal, we don't care," said Jordan.

"Yeah," said Diane.

"Oh but I bet the new girl would mind. What's your name again?" asked Crystal.

"Deepanshi."

"Right. I'll start telling everyone now," she said turning her back on the others. Her friends followed her.

"I hope you heard. She is the type of person you should never become friends with," said Leanne.

"Don't worry, I won't," said Deepanshi.

___________________________________________________________

Monday came really quickly. Deepanshi had chemistry first. She had three whole periods of chemistry. She knew where her class was, since the others had shown her. As she walked in the class all the girls stopped talking. Crystal had already told everyone about her. She sat right in front. The teacher soon came in.

"Good-morning class," he said. Deepanshi noticed that he had an Australian accent. "I believe we have a new girl in our class." He looked at his register. "Deepanshi Chaudry. Very original," he said. None of Deepanshi's new friends did chemistry.

While the teacher was explaining a girl talked to Deepanshi.

"Hi, my name is Karen," she said.

"Nice meeting you," said Deepanshi.

"Are you good at chemistry?" asked Karen.

"Quite good," said Deepanshi. She was a bit annoyed that Karen decided to talk to her while she was trying to listen to the teacher.

"Who are your roommates?" asked Karen.

"Mary-Joel, Jordan and Diane," answered Deepanshi. Karen was going to ask Deepanshi another question when the teacher asked her one.

"Karen, can you please tell us what an atom is?" he asked. Karen turned red. She had not listened to the teacher, so she did not know the answer.

"I don't know the answer sir," she blurted out.

"I thought so. Who can tell the class what an atom is?" asked the teacher. "Yes Rachael."

"An atom is…" but Rachael could not finish. The headmistress came in and called the teacher. Karen took this opportunity to continue talking to Deepanshi.

"Since you're sharing rooms with Mary-Joel and the others, I guess you're I their group," she said.

"Uh, yah I am," said Deepanshi. "Are you in any group?" asked Deepanshi to Karen.

"Yeah, I'm in a group. We are three girls. The other two have computer studies right now," said Karen.

"What are you friend's names?" asked Deepanshi.

"Stacey and Julie," said Karen. The teacher came back in. This time Karen kept quite and Deepanshi managed to follow the class.

After chemistry Karen left Deepanshi to go and meet her friend's. Three girls approached Deepanshi.

"We heard about you from Crystal," said one of them.

"That's nice," said Deepanshi.

"What school were you before?" asked another girl.

"Joshua High School," said Deepanshi.

"Never heard of it. Was it a mixed school?" asked the third girl.

"Yes it was," said Deepanshi.

"I'm Mary, she's Danielle and she's Sophie," said the first girl.

"Nice meeting you," said Deepanshi. Mary, Danielle and Sophie left Deepanshi. Deepanshi went to the toilet. She heard strange sounds by the door. Since she was really curious she went in. She came out shocked. She was so shocked that she did not notice that she bumped into Jordan.

"Hey, what's up with you?" asked Jordan in surprise.

"I saw girls in the toilet. They were…"

"No need to tell me, I already know. Told you that some girls here are not normal," said Jordan.

"I understand. I really understand now," said Deepanshi.

"What have you got next?" asked Jordan.

"Physics and then English," said Deepanshi.

"Farnaz is in your physic's class and so is Diane, so you'll be alright," said Jordan.

"Thanks, I'm heading to class right now," said Deepanshi.

________________________________________________________________

Three weeks went by. Deepanshi began to like her new school. She thought her friends were cool. But they had a lot of enemies. Especially Farnaz. It was really amazing to see the amount of people she hated. The other day, four girls put butter in her trainers. Farnaz could not physical education thanks to those girls. She got in a lot of trouble. Meanwhile, Diane, Jordan and Isabelle had made it to the basketball team and they trained everyday after school hours. The big match was due this Wednesday. Deepanshi for her part managed to make a few more friends. She stayed away from the girls that smoked and took drugs. She also stayed away from the girls that were not normal. But apart from those people, Deepanshi thought her school was great. She also thought that the teachers were really good. She phoned her parents every Saturday.

"From now on, I'm going to watch over my stuff very carefully," said Farnaz. "I got that detention for nothing."

"You've got so many enemies. You never know what they are planning behind your back," said Payal.

"Yah, why don't you try being their friends?" asked Leanne. Farnaz exploded.

"Their friends!!! No way!! I'd rather die that become their friends," she said.

"Girl, you have a problem," said Payal. Just then Deepanshi came.

"Don't you think Farnaz has too many enemies Deepanshi?" asked Payal.

"I guess so," said Deepanshi.

"See, even Deepanshi thinks the same way," said Leanne. Farnaz scowled.

"I was coming to ask you guys if you were going to watch the match," said Deepanshi.

"Of course we are," said Leanne.

"Well let's go," said Deepanshi.

A lot of people were already at the basketball court when Deepanshi, Leanne, Payal and Farnaz arrived. Mary-Joel had saved places for them. They went to sit down.

"I'm so excited. This is the very first basketball match I've ever been too," said Deepanshi.

"What school are we playing against?" asked Payal.

"Boston High School. It's a mixed school," said Mary-Joel.

"Lucky them," said Farnaz.

"Look, they are coming on the court!" said Deepanshi clapping her hands. She was the only one that was clapping her hands. The whole school looked at her. Leanne told her to stop clapping her hands. She did so immediately.

"Here comes our school!" shouted Karen who was sitting right behind Deepanshi. Now everyone cheered.

"Our basketball uniform is much better than the others," said Deepanshi to Mary-Joel.

"Of course it is," she replied immediately. Soon the match began. Isabelle, Jordan and Diane played really well. There were two other the girls in their team that played even better though. Their names were Elsa and Raven. They made an excellent duo. The girls sitting on the bench knew that they would never get a chance to play. By the end of the first half Boston High School was loosing by ten points. Deepanshi saw their coach yelling instructions at them. The second half started. Elsa and Raven played better than ever. Jordan was dribbling the ball; none of the other girls could the ball away from her. She past it to Isabelle who then passed it to Diane. Diane passed it to Elsa. She was about to score when a gun shot was heard. It got Elsa straight in the head. There was panic everywhere. All the girls were screaming. Even Deepanshi. Who on earth could of done such a thing??????

________________________________________________________________

The match was postponed. They would have to re-play it another day. Everyone was very solemn since the death of Elsa. It came as a shock to everyone. Nobody could believe that such a terrible thing to happen to her. It also arose terror in the school. Everyone thought that there was murderer among them. In their room Mary-Joel and the others were discussing the situation.

"Everyone liked Elsa. She was one of those people that no one could ever hate," said Mary-Joel with tears in her eyes.

"I know what you mean. She really played basketball well," said Jordan.

"Raven must be really sad. They were best friends you know," said Diane.

"Yah and from the way I saw things that night, they made a really excellent duo," said Deepanshi.

"It must have been someone who was really jealous of Elsa," said Diane.

"And that person must of hated her in secret," added Mary-Joel.

"Jealousy and hatred make a great duo, if you get what I'm trying to imply," said Jordan. There was a knock on the door. Diane went to open it. Isabelle and Farnaz came in.

"Payal and Leanne are gone to town. They said that they wanted to get out of this school for a few hours," said Isabelle.

"I don't blame them," said Jordan.

"So what were you guys talking about?" asked Farnaz.

"The sudden death of Elsa," said Diane.

"It's really scary hey, I mean, the murderer could be anyone in this school," said Farnaz.

"Do you guys think that that person is feeling guilty?" asked Isabelle.

"Maybe, but I doubt it," said Mary-Joel.

"Why do you doubt it?" asked Jordan.

"Well you said for yourself that jealousy and hatred made a great duo, so, that person is probably feeling great satisfaction now that the only person she hated is out of the way forever," said Mary-Joel.

"Unless," said Deepanshi.

"Unless what?" the others asked immediately.

"Unless that person has other victims. Unless that person hates a whole hoard of people and has decided to eliminate them one by one," said Deepanshi slowly. There was silence for a while.

"Maybe you're right," said Jordan. "But how on earth are going to find out if your statement is right?"

"We wait for another murder to occur," said Deepanshi. The others looked at her.

"I don't want another murder to occur, don't get me wrong. It's the only to find out if this person is the murderer and also if this person hates a lot of people," Deepanshi said.

"Yah, I think you're right," said Farnaz. They continued to talk for a while. An hour later they heard screams. They ran to see what was going on. They saw girls in the bathroom. Some had made a circle around something. Jordan was the first one to get there. She went out almost at once.

"What's going on?" asked Diane.

"Go see for yourselves," said Jordan. The others went to see. They were really shocked. In the shower they saw Julie on the ground with a knife stabbed into her stomach. Karen was nearby. Deepanshi went to see her at once.

"I'm so sorry," she said.

"She was my best friend," said Karen in tears.

"I know," said Deepanshi hugging Karen.

This was the second time policemen came to the school. Julie's body was taken away. The headmistress had lots of calls from parents threatening to take their children out of school. She had a hard time persuading the parents to change their minds. Newspapers across the country were now speaking of Mattison International Boarding school.

"Lucky for me, my parents aren't in the country, otherwise they would take me out of this school at once," said Deepanshi.

"That's another thing we all have in common, all our parents work outside the country, so they'll never know what happened here," said Diane.

"And of course, were not going to tell them what happened," said Mary-Joel.

"I wanna solve this mystery," said Deepanshi all of a sudden.

"You're definitely gone insane," commented Jordan taking her books out of her bag. The three of them had just gotten in their French class.

"No, I have not got insane. I'm going to find out who the murderer is, so that we can all live in peace," said Deepanshi.

"The police are already at school, they are trying to find out who the murderer is," said Mary-Joel.

"And they are not doing a very good job are they? Two deaths have already occurred," said Deepanshi. The bell rang and other girls came into the class.

"Just let the police do their job Deepanshi," said Jordan.

________________________________________________________________

A year passed by since the deaths of Elsa and Julie. Deepanshi had listened to Jordan. The police had already left the school. The murderer was never found. Too Deepanshi, that remained a mystery, but since everyone had seemed to have forgotten about the murders she decided to try and forget about it. Karen and Raven had changed ever since their friends were killed. They kept more to themselves. Deepanshi tried to be nice to them, but they would not respond to her friendliness. One day, Deepanshi was reading a book in her room. Mary-Joel and the gang had gone to town. She was in the middle of her book when she heard someone scream. She got out of her room and ran as fast as she could towards the yelling. In was coming from the lecture theatre. Before she got to the door someone dressed in black ran out of the lecture theatre and jumped out of the window. Deepanshi's room was very close to the lecture theatre. She got in the theatre. She looked everywhere and asked if anyone was in the room but no one replied to her. Then from the corner of her eye she saw a girl underneath the chairs at the back. Deepanshi screamed her lungs out.

"You're wasting your time," a voice said suddenly. Deepanshi stopped screaming and looked at the person.

"How long have you been here?" asked Deepanshi.

"Long enough too appreciate your screaming," said the girl with a laugh. Deepanshi just stared at her.

"So, what's with the screaming?" asked the girl. Deepanshi showed her the body.

"Looks like this school had lost one of its best students," she said. "Pity, this girl was so nice and so clever." Deepanshi continued to stare at her.

"Have you lost your tongue?" asked the girl.

"No," said Deepanshi at last.

"Then why are you looking at me like that?"

"Well, someone has just been murdered and you are acting like a hypocrite," said Deepanshi wildly.

"No I'm not. Look here comes the headmistress, I'm not surprised she heard your screaming," said the girl coolly. The headmistress became very pale when she saw the body. She knew that more students were going to leave the school again. The police were called, the body of the girl was taken away and the case was re-opened. Now three names were out of the list of the school. They were Elsa Blaze, Julie Hunter and Stephanie Roberts. By the time the others came back, the news was already spread.

"Another murder! Not again!" exclaimed Farnaz.

"Who was the victim this time?" asked Issabelle.

"A girl called Stephanie Roberts. I never knew she was in this school until today," said Deepanshi.

"Now were going to have police on our backs again," said Jordan.

"Oh, I met this girl. She is so weird. I think she is in my physics class. She took the case so, so coolly," said Deepanshi.

"What did she look like?" asked Diane. Just then, Leanne and Payal joined them.

"We heard that there was another murder. This is getting really scary," said Payal.

"We know. How did this girl look like?" asked Diane.

"What girl?" asked Leanne.

"Just listen to Deepanshi," said Jordan impatiently.

"Well, she had black hair with brown highlights. She was dressed in a top and peddle pushes. She is so weird. She did not even get scared when she saw the dead body. Do you guys know who I am talking about?" asked Deepanshi.

"Who wouldn't," commented Jordan.

"Then you all know who she is?" asked Deepanshi curiously.

"You bet we do," said Mary-Joel.

"Well, who is she?" asked Deepanshi impatiently. They all remained silent, but Payal decided to come to Deepanshi rescue.

"You said she wore peddle pushes," she said.

"Yes."

"Only one person loves wearing peddle pushes during the week-ends. Her name is Annabelle Highstring. She is the most weird person I've, well I mean we've ever seen someone as weird as her in our lives," said Payal.

"But why?" asked Deepanshi.

"Look, were not telling you to hate her. But… Never mind, just forget what we told you," said Diane.

"Why?" asked Deepanshi again.

"Deepanshi. Just forget it okay. Be friends with her if you want. There's nothing wrong with her," said Jordan.

________________________________________________________________

Deepanshi decided to go and talk to Annabelle. She seemed so mysterious. She thought that it was amazing that she had never heard people talking about her. "Well maybe they do in secret," she thought. But that was not the point. She needed to talk to Annabelle badly. She did not even know why. She had two lessons of add maths and then she had physics. She decided to talk to Annabelle in physics because she thought that Annabelle was in her physics class. She was right. As soon as she got into the class she sat next to Annabelle. Annabelle looked at her in surprise and so did a few other girls.

"Why did you decide to sit next to me? I mean, I was in your class for a whole year and you never bothered to sit next to me," she said.

"I need to talk to you," said Deepanshi.

"About what?" asked Annabelle in surprise.

"Meet me during lunch in the lecture theatre, okay," said Deepanshi.

"Why?" asked Annabelle again.

"Just do as I say," said Deepanshi with an annoyed face.

"Fine, I'll be there," said Annabelle finally. The class went on. During lunch Deepanshi went to the lecture theatre. Annabelle was waiting for her. She was sitting right in front. She was reading a book.

"Thanks for coming," said Deepanshi to her.

"This book is based on a true story. It's a really said story," said Annabelle. Deepanshi looked at the book.

"Got it at the library right?" she asked. Annabelle nodded.

"Maybe I'll take it someday," said Deepanshi.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" asked Annabelle.

"Well, I think you know a lot about the murders that have occurred," said Deepanshi cautiously.

"What makes you think that?" asked Annabelle. She was truly shocked.

"Well, the way you acted they the day Stephanie died. She acted so, so coolly. As if…"

"As if I knew that she was going to be murdered," Annabelle finished off.

"Well, that's not what I was going to say, but since you have said that, I guess so," said Deepanshi.

"So you think I'm working with the murderer?" asked Annabelle.

"I guess so," said Deepanshi. She was amazed that Annabelle could tell what she was trying to say.

"Well I'm not. If you don't believe me that's your problem, not mine," said Annabelle.

"Then will you help me?" asked Deepanshi.

"Help you do what?" asked Annabelle.

"Uh, help me find the murderer," said Deepanshi.

"Why should I? I think you're insane. The murderer you're talking about is very dangerous. Why would I want to risk my skin, just to help you," said Annabelle.

"Look, do you want another one of your friends to be killed?" asked Deepanshi loosing her patience.

"I don't have any friends here, so why should I care," said Annabelle. She looked sad when she said that. Then Deepanshi realized something she had never realized before. Nobody talked to Annabelle. That's why they were all staring at her when she went to talk to Annabelle.

"Why don't you have any friends?" she asked.

"They all think I'm strange. They all hate me for nothing. I've have not done anything to anyone. It's amazing how the horrible and nasty girls are so popular. Like Crystal for example. I did not do one nasty thing and nobody wants to look at me," Annabelle said sadly. Deepanshi understood how she felt. She too had had this experience.

"Tell you what, I'll be your friend from no on," she said.

"Your just saying that because you want me to help you find the murderer. And you think I'll say yes. You're friends think you're mad because you want to look for a murderer. You think I'll say yes because everyone says I'm strange. I'm sure you've already told you're friends about me. And I bet they've told you everything about me. So you decide to become my friend for your own advantage because you're friends wont listen to you," said Annabelle. Deepanshi just stared at her.

"Am I right?" asked Annabelle.

"In the beginning it was like that. But now I sincerely want to be your friend now," said Deepanshi.

"Because you feel sorry for me," said Annabelle.

"No," said Deepanshi. But Annabelle was right. Deepanshi did feel sorry for her.

"I'll think about it," said Annabelle. With that, she walked out of the lecture theatre. Deepanshi just stared at the open door.

________________________________________________________________

The murderer lay on her bed. She was looking at an album of photos.

"Elsa Blaze, gone. Julie Hunter, gone. Stephanie Roberts, gone. I'm so good," she said and laughed wickedly. In her album she kept pictures of her victims. She looked at the next picture.

"Look who's next," she said with a wicked voice. She laughed so loud. She hit her head against the wall and took her gun out of her wardrobe. She kept underneath her clothes. She pointed the gun at the picture.

"Well well well. Look who's next. Have fun while you can because soon you'll be seven feet under Jordan Mackenzie. You've lived too long and have too many friends," she said wickedly. She thought about the killing. She smiled at thought of seeing Jordan lying dead on the ground. In fact, she looked forward for that.

"Say your prayers Jordan, for tomorrow, you'll be no more," she said triumphantly.

________________________________________________________________

"Training was good today," said Isabelle.

"Easy for you to say," said Jordan.

"Guys, the most important thing is that we are on the team. That's what counts," said Diane. They were walking to their room. It had been a hard day for all of them.

"At least you did not flunk your maths test," said Jordan to Diane.

"That's not my fault. I'm clever at maths," said Diane.

"So I'm not," said Jordan. She seemed offended.

"Oh, it's only one test Jordan. You'll catch up. I know you," said Isabelle.

"Look, I'm going to the bathroom. You two go ahead. I'll go to our room later," Jordan said. Someone heard her. That person ran to the room and got her gun. "I can kill her earlier," she thought to herself. Meanwhile Jordan was washing her face in the bathroom. She looked at herself and scowled. "I'm a real looser," she said to herself. She washed her face one more time. By nature, Jordan was always optimistic, but sometimes she could also be very pessimist. Just then, the entrance door to the bathroom opened. Jordan turned around immediately.

"Who's there?" Jordan asked loudly. There was no reply. Jordan looked around her. She did not see anyone.

"Who's there?" she asked again.

"You worst nightmare," replied a voice. Then to Jordan's horror she saw a person pointing a gun at her. The person was wearing a mask and black clothes.

"Who are you?" Jordan asked bravely.

"Does Elsa Blaze, Julie Hunter and Stephanie Roberts ring a bell??" asked the person. Jordan gasped.

"You're the murderer," she said. Never in her life did she feel scared like she did now.

"Exactly. And guess what? You are next on my list," the murderer said. With that she pointed her gun at Jordan's head.

"Its amazing. You are the only one that has not screamed. Well neither did Elsa, but she was taken by surprise anyway." She laughed out aloud. "Before killing my victims who I get to talk to, I always tell them my name," said the murderer. With that she shot Jordan in the stomach. Jordan fell down in pain. But she did not scream.

"Why aren't you screaming?" asked the murderer.

"I have my dignity to keep," said Jordan. Then she looked up and said, "God look after my family and friends," she said. The murderer just laughed and hit her head against the wall. Jordan had enough energy to say, "You are mad."

"I know. I hate seeing people having best friends or friends. I cant stand that! My name is Kristy Davids. Nice knowing you Jordan." With that she pointed the gun at Jordan's head. Jordan closed her eyes. With no mercy she shot Jordan three times in the head. Jordan dropped down like a leaf. Kristy laughed loud and felt great satisfaction.

"Four down, ten to go," she said and with that she walked off.

Jordan's body was found an hour later. It was actually Isabelle that went looking for her and found her. She was so shocked. She did not even have the courage to go call the headmistress. But she found her courage. She ran out of the bathroom with tears in her eyes. Payal and Leanne saw her running out of the bathroom. They knew something was up. They stayed by the bathroom. Ten minutes later they saw Isabelle coming back with the headmistress. The headmistress went in the bathroom but Isabelle stayed outside to announce the bad news to Payal and Leanne. They were shocked. Tears came into their eyes. Soon the news of Jordan death was spread around school. Diane, Mary-Joel and Deepanshi came running to the scene as soon as they heard the news. They came just in time to see the police taking her body away. None of them could talk. Who on earth would of thought that Jordan was going to be murdered.

"She was just with me and Isa during training," said Diane. She could hardly say those words because she was crying so much.

________________________________________________________________

"Jordan's death has affected me a lot. Not to mention Diane and the others," said Deepanshi to Annabelle.

"I know how you feel although I've never lost someone I was close too," said Annabelle.

"Why Jordan?" asked Deepanshi. "Why her?"

"Maybe she had something the murderer doesn't," said Annabelle.

"What would Jordan have to motivate someone to kill her," said Deepanshi. The thought of Jordan being dead made Deepanshi cry again.

"Friends," said Annabelle.

"Excuse me," said Deepanshi.

"Jordan had good friends. People that she was close too. So did Elsa, Julie and Stephanie. Don't you see the connection?" said Annabelle. Deepanshi thought for a minute. Then she realised how right Annabelle was.

"You are absolutely right. Elsa had a best friend. Julie had two best friends. Stephanie had, well uh I think she must have had a best friend or two. Jordan for her part was really close to Diane and Isabelle. And her best friend was Farnaz," said Deepanshi.

"How is Farnaz coping?" asked Annabelle.

"She is really sad," said Deepanshi. There was a silence for a moment. Then Deepanshi spoke.

"You know, I want revenge. I'm going to get it. I will not rest until I find the killer of my friend. You know, Jordan's parents are going to send our headmistress to court. The school might close. Four murders is a bit too much. We have to do something," said Deepanshi. Annabelle agreed fully to this.

"I agree. Lets get ready for OPERATION KILLER ON THE LOOSE," she said.

________________________________________________________________

Annabelle and Deepanshi decided to operate at night, so no one would see them. Mostly all the teachers and a good number of students had left the school. Isabelle and Diane dropped out of the basketball team. Payal's parents took her out of school. Leanne also decided to leave. She said that she could not bear living in the school, knowing one of her good friends would never come back. The next day, to Mary-Joel's surprise, her parents came and took her out of school. So only Deepanshi, Farnaz, Isabelle and Diane were left. Diane and Isabelle did not talk much, but they kept saying that they wished that the murderer was found. Farnaz found out about Deepanshi and Annabelle. She too, wanted to join in.

"I'll do anything. It's my friend who died. My best friend and I want to see her murderer get punished," she had said to Deepanshi and Annabelle. Deepanshi was actually happy that Farnaz had decided to join in. She knew that Farnaz would tell Diane and Isabelle what she was up to, then maybe Diane and Isabelle would join in and together, including Annabelle, they would find out who the murderer was. One night while the three of them were discussing how they would find out who the murderer was Isabelle and Diane came along. Deepanshi was really happy. Now, they were going to find out who killed Jordan and the others and that person was going to pay…

Kristy looked at her album. The first four on the list were gone. She laughed out aloud. She was so happy that the headmistress had given her a room for herself. Her parents had told the headmistress that she had psychological problems. But she was extremely clever, so the headmistress let come to the school. Kristy parents were divers. They worked for a huge company. They were never at home. Right now they were probably in the middle of the ocean. It was hard to contact them. Her parents told her that they would be in the country on the sixteenth of August. That was three weeks away. So Kristy had enough time to kill the people she wanted to kill. She was obsessed by seeing people die. It was a sight she enjoyed. She looked at Jordan picture. She still remembered what Jordan had told her.

"I have my dignity," rang in Kristy's head. But the more she thought about what Jordan had said, the more she wanted to kill. For she too had her dignity. She had to kill. She looked at the next photo. "Mary-Joel Hawkins," she thought. "She left school today. Never mind, I'll get her someday," she thought. "Who's next?" She turned the page of the album. "Raven Dudgeson. Well I killed her friend last year, so I might as well kill her. So they'll be together," she thought. Then she hit her head against the wall again. She laughed and laughed and laughed. She decided to kill her next victim during the basketball match due this Saturday. It was Wednesday now.

"Just three days Raven, just three days," she said wickedly…

Deepanshi and the others were still deciding what to do.

"We need to do something," said Deepanshi.

"Aren't we trying to. We've been up for two nights," said Isabelle.

"Yeah and were not getting anywhere," said Diane.

"I want to find the witch who killed my best friend," said Farnaz.

"We all do," said Deepanshi.

"That's all you can say. It was your idea, why don't you think of something," said Isabelle. Now Deepanshi got angry. They got into a fight. It was Annabelle that silenced them down.

"SHUTUP," she shouted. They stopped fighting and looked at her.

"Thank-you. I think I've got an idea," she said.

"What is it? Have you found a way of finding the murderer?" said Farnaz. Annabelle nodded.

"Well, what is it?" asked Diane. It was the first time she ever spoke to Annabelle.

"We need to go to the office and look for the student files. There has to be someone we've missed at school. Someone we have not noticed. By looking at the files we might find out who that person is. The student files tell you everything. Family backgrounds, religion, it also tells you if the person is suffering from a disease or have a psychological problem," she said. The others stared at her in an awe.

"Why didn't I think of that?" said Deepanshi.

"Because, oh never mind. I think it's a great idea Annabelle," said Isabelle.

"Thanks," said Annabelle.

"Lets go now," said Farnaz.

"What time is it?" asked Annabelle. She never walked with a watch.

"Its quarter past eleven," said Isabelle.

"We'll go at midnight," Deepanshi said firmly. They all agreed. The forty five minute wait seemed like an eternity. At last mid night came. It was a good thing that Annabelle had a supply of torches in her room. She went to get them. She was back in ten minutes.

"If you don't mind me asking, why do you keep torches?" said Isabelle.

"I like collecting them that's all," said Annabelle. They took a torch each and headed to the office. They did so and silently as possible. They got to the door.

"Lets hope the door is not locked," said Deepanshi with her fingers crossed. She opened the door, to her relief it was open. They went in.

"Look for the cupboard that says student files on it," whispered Annabelle. They did as she said in complete silence. It was Diane that found it.

"Good work," said Deepanshi. Luckily the cupboard was not locked. They took out only the senior side of the school.

"I'll take the first pack. Annabelle and Farnaz look at the second pack, Diane and Isabelle, look at the final pack," instructed Deepanshi. They did as she said. They looked carefully at the files. They came across many people they did not even know were in the school. It was Farnaz that found something interesting.

"Guys, come check this out," she said. They all went towards her.

"This student file is for Kristy Davids. It says that she is sixteen years old. Her parents are divers that work Diving Ltd…"

"That's a huge diving company," interrupted Annabelle. They all looked at her. "Sorry," she said.

"Anyway," went on Farnaz, "it also says that they have no religion. That's what concerns the family background. But what is more interesting, is that Kristy has a psychological problem. She has a room of her own and takes special lessons on her own," said Farnaz. There was silence for a moment.

"That's why I've never seen her in my life," said Diane breaking the silence.

"Me too," said Annabelle.

"Does it say what her room number is?" asked Isabelle.

"Let me see," said Farnaz. It took her less than a minute.

"Yup. She is in room number 101," she said. They all looked at each other.

"Are you guys thinking what I'm thinking?" asked Deepanshi.

"I think we are," said Diane.

"We have to get into her room and find out if there is any proof of her being the murderer," said Deepanshi.

"When?" asked Annabelle.

"Tomorrow is Friday. We'll have to go after classes and all we have to do is find room number 101 and get into it. I doubt it will be locked. None of the rooms are locked anyway," said Deepanshi.

"What if that Kristy girl is around?" asked Diane.

"Its four against one. She won't be able to do much," reasoned Isabelle. So it was agreed to go to Kristy's room in the afternoon after classes.

The next day came quick enough. Deepanshi and the others tried to look as casual as possible. They were on a secret mission. But nobody had to know what they were up to. They finally came to room 101.

"Here goes," said Deepanshi opening the door. To everyone's relief it was not locked. Annabelle checked if anybody saw them In the room Deepanshi told them the coast was clear. They all got in, Farnaz closed the door. They walked about in the room.

"ISA AND Diane, go through the cupboard, Annabelle and Farnaz through the drawer and I'll do the wardrobe," said Deepanshi who seemed to like giving orders to people. Diane and Isabelle found nothing in the cupboards and Annabelle and Farnaz did not find anything in the drawers. Deepanshi did not find anything either.

"This is so irritating! She seemed liked the perfect person," said Farnaz in frustration.

"As they say," said Annabelle sitting down on the bed, "don't judge a person by their app… hey what's this?" She sat on the pillowcase and she had felt something underneath. They found an album. Without hesitating Annabelle opened it. The first page had a title on top it. "My Victims," read Annabelle. They saw pictures of people who were in the school. Elsa, Julie, Stephanie and Jordan's picture had crosses on them, it had a arrow pointing to them as well. By that arrow was written the word dead. They turned the page and saw Mary-Joel's picture but by her picture there was a question mark. Then they say a picture of Raven and by that picture it was written "NEXT"

"God, that must mean that Raven is next!" declared Farnaz.

"No duh," said Isabelle.

"What do we do? What do we do? What do we do?" asked Diane hysterically.

"We stop her," said Deepanshi firmly.

"How the hek are we going to do that?" asked Farnaz.

"We stop her and then get the police to arrest her," said Deepanshi.

"How and when?" asked Annabelle.

"When did Elsa get shot?" asked Deepanshi.

"During the basketball match," said Diane.

"Exactly! And what else can we deduce?" asked Deepanshi.

"That Elsa and Raven were best friends," said Isabelle.

"Yes we all know that. But do you guys think that she'll want to kill Raven the same way she killed Elsa," said Deepanshi.

"So what you're saying is that this Kristy is going to kill Raven during the basketball match that is due this Saturday," said Diane.

"Exactly. No here's my plan…" said Deepanshi.

________________________________________________________________

The whole school was there for the basketball match. Diane and Farnaz were by the door. Deepanshi said that Kristy might try to run out through the entrance. Deepanshi for her part had a video camera which she borrowed from the Theatre Club. She was going to video tape all of Kristy's movement. Annabelle had to look for Kristy and sit next to her. It was hard for her to find her, but she finally did. She was sitting right at the top. She saw that Deepanshi was already filming her. Nobody was sitting next to her. But Annabelle went up anyway. Deepanshi told her to try and start and conversation with her. Isabelle for her part had to call the police. Deepanshi borrowed her her cell phone. Deepanshi had hid rope underneath Kristy's bed. They knew that Kristy would run to her room. There they would attack, well actually Annabelle, Diane and Farnaz would while Deepanshi filmed them. Then if all went as planned Isabelle will turn up with the headmistress and the police. Of course, everyone was scared that the murderer would attack again. So was the headmistress, but she did not show it. The police were outside the school she had told everyone. That gave Deepanshi an idea.

She went up to Isabelle.

"Go to the cops and tell them everything and wait for us in Kristy's room. Show them all the proof we have against her and also show them her student file," she said.

"It's as if it's done," Isabelle said. Deepanshi smiled to herself.

"Now, lets see how Annabelle is doing," she said.

"Excuse me sir," said Isabelle.

"What can I do for you kid?" the policeman asked.

"I think I have something that will interest you," said Isabelle. "Follow me. All of you."

"This is some kind of a trick isn't it," said the policeman.

"Not at all sir. Its about the murderer. My friends and I know who it is and we've found a way of catching her. Please sir, one of my very best friends was killed because of her and I really want her to learn her lesson. Please follow me," begged Isabelle.

"Right. Common boys. Lets follow this young lady," the policeman said.

"How come I've never seen you around school?" asked Annabelle. Kristy looked at her but did not reply.

"Common you can tell me. I mean, I'm the only one sitting next to you," Annabelle tried again.

"Shut-up. I'm thinking of the best way," said Kristy.

"What. The best way of doing what?" Annabelle asked innocently.

"None of your business," said Kristy. She thought of something and then she started to laugh. Once she started she could not stop.

"Excuse me. But what's there to laugh about?" asked Annabelle.

"Have you ever seen someone dying?" asked Kristy. She put her face in front of Annabelle's when she said that. That made Annabelle jump up because she had gotten a shock.

"Couldn't Deepanshi come and talk to this freak herself. Why me?" thought Annabelle.

"Well?" asked Kristy again.

"Uh, no I have not. I don't want to," Annabelle replied. Then after a pause she asked Kristy,

"Why, have you?" Kristy looked happy when Annabelle asked her that question. She laughed loud again and again and again. Annabelle waited for her to stop laughing and then she listened to her answer.

"Yes I have. Many times. I love it when I see…"

"I don't want to know the details. I take it for a yes. That you have seen… Never mind… Um, uh, hey what's in your bag?" Annabelle said trying to change the subject. Kristy looked at her bag and smiled wickedly.

"My bag. You want to know what is in my bag," she said slowly. Annabelle nodded slowly as well.

"In my bag there is the most precious article any student could ever have. What is in my bag is the key to my happiness. I cannot live without what is in my bag. It is the heart of my happiness. It is the fruit of what I love. That is what is in my bag," answered Kristy. Annabelle looked at her.

"And what is that precious article?" asked Annabelle cautiously. (Annabelle had a microphone hidden under her clothes. Deepanshi had got one from an old friend of hers who had given it to her for her birthday. Right now she was filming and listening to Annabelle's conversation with Kristy).

"My precious article is a…" but Kristy could not continue. The match had started.

"Finally. I do not have a lot to wait," she said. Annabelle looked down for Deepanshi. When she found her she saw that Deepanshi was still filming. Then she started to watch the match. Raven played quite well but anyone could see that she missed playing with Elsa. The first period ended. Deepanshi stopped filming the match and filmed Annabelle and Kristy again. Kristy for her part was looking excited. She was talking to herself. Annabelle began to feel afraid.

"Why are you so excited? Is it because we are winning?" asked Annabelle innocently.

"No it is not because we are winning," said Kristy roughly.

"Then why are you so excited?" asked Annabelle again.

"Somebody's hour had come. Soon I will see what I love to see," said Kristy wickedly. Then she opened her bag really slowly.

"Why are you opening you bag that slowly," said Annabelle as loudly as possible. She hoped that Deepanshi had heard her. She did! Deepanshi moved quickly to Farnaz and Diane to tell them to get ready. Then she came back.

"Why do ask so many questions?" asked Kristy. She was really tired of Annabelle's questions.

"Uh, I'm just curious," said Annabelle.

"Curiosity killed the cat you know," said Kristy dangerously.

"That only applies for cats," said Annabelle.

"Oh no. It can apply for humans as well," said Kristy even more dangerously.

Annabelle did not have time to reply. The game started again. Kristy watched it for a few minutes. Then slowly she took her gun out of her bag. She pointed it to Raven.

"What the hek do you think you're doing?" asked Annabelle.

"Killing Raven," said Kristy. Then she laughed. Annabelle wasted no time.

"A murderer! A murderer. She is going to kill Raven!" she shouted as loud as possible. A few people heard her. They saw her gun. They started screaming. Kristy turned around to Annabelle.

"You spoiled everything you witch!" she shouted and hit Annabelle on the head with her gun. Annabelle felled down. Kristy fired around the basketball court. Now there was panic everywhere. Kristy ran to the door. Diane caught her by the leg, but Kristy was quick. She hit Diane and when Farnaz came to help Diane, Kristy hit her as well. Then she ran as fast as she could. Deepanshi and Annabelle came (in lots of pain).

"She's heading to her room, lets follow her," said Deepanshi.

"You guys go quickly. I'm in too much pain, that witch got me hard on the head," said Annabelle. They agreed and went to Kristy's room. By the time they got there, they heard screams and shouts. The policemen had caught Kristy red handed with her backpack and gun. Annabelle finally came to the room. She was just in time to hear Kristy's speech. (Deepanshi was still filming everything).

"You idiots! You witches. I hope that you all go to…" but Isabelle cut her in.

"Too what? Heaven?" she asked sarcastically.

"No! I'll get you all. You are going to regret that you did this to me. Especially you," she said pointing to Annabelle.

"Why me?" asked Annabelle innocently.

"You know why. You're next on my list all of you. You will join all the others and I'll have the pleasure of seeing each one of you die one by one," she shouted as the policemen took her away. She laughed and laughed and laughed. The headmistress for her part was in great shock. Isabelle and the others were relieved, they knew that they would never see Kristy again, for she had a huge psychological problem.

"Now Jordan can rest in peace," said Farnaz with satisfaction in her voice.

"Yeah, and now we don't have to worry about a murderer killing anyone," said Diane.

"It's strange huh. What was the cause of those murders?" asked Isabelle.

"She said that she loved seeing people die. I wonder why," said Annabelle.

"Well, she's probably going to be taken to a hospital to get treatment. She'll be alright," said Deepanshi.

"But she said we were next," said Farnaz.

"Oh come on man, she wont keep a grudge for that long," said Deepanshi.

"Maybe, but she seemed dead serious," said Diane.

"Oh, lets forget about it now," said Isabelle.

"Yeah, we've done our job. Lets just relax now. That's what Jordan would want us to do," said Farnaz.

"Yah, common guys lets go celebrate. You too Annabelle. Common! Lets go!" shouted Diane.

Meanwhile Kristy was out of hospital! Her brother got her out, for he was a powerful lawyer. At her house she was preparing her revenge.

"I'll get my revenge much sooner than I thought. Those friends should live life to the full, for they wont live for long!" she shouted to herself (in her bedroom).
